because it did not mention in most of the website who offer trading about the trade options if the 1st thing you do is to trade call options 1st before you can trade put options. I hope those who have knowledge about this will share his or her opinion..
don’t understand the question very well. that said, puts and calls are two different things. you can trade either one or the other or both. you don’t have to do anything first or anything second.
JUST AS EXPECTED! We saw a rally to 920-926, more specifically 923 and then the market reversed to end up just a little up for the day on incredibly low volume. This to me, seems like a bear flag development and is very bearish for tomorrows trading. Also strong options activity shows that we could be selling off very strongly both friday late trading and monday as people have sold to open millions of contracts that are IN THE MONEY (75-90$ calls). Check out this video, as we might be headed for a strong sell off to the 875-880 level on the SPX.

what does it really mean to "trade options"? also, can someone distinguish cash, option, and margin?
Ok, and what advantages does option trading have? Seems like its just adding more risk to already unpredictable investment.
It’s just another form of trading securities in the stock market. Normal securities are called stocks and are sold by the share. Options are a contract with a time limit betting, in their simplest forms, that the stock’s price will go one way or another. If you’re betting a stock will go up, you buy a call option. The option has an expiration date, a price that indicates whether it will execute or not at the expiration date, and a separate value decided by trading. options are traded on the open market just like stocks. Option contracts are a block of stock. If you’re betting a stock will go down, it’s a put option.
Cash is cash. Options are contracts with an expiration date. If you don’t sell the option contract and it expires out of the money, it is worthless. It’s in the money if the price per share of an individual share of the stock is better (higher if call, lower if put) than the price your contract is set for. Margin, in the simplest explanation, is an agreement between the broker and you that they will give your account a short-term loan.
From http://www.quickrelease.tv At the Taipei Cycle trade show, Trek president John Burke gave an inspiring talk about why the bicycle industry should divert cash from marketing and R&D to help advocates and politicians create a ‘bicycle friendly world’.

Today I give an overview of the last day of the month and its importance to the shorter term plays. The bulls seem to stay in control in this market but then lose their grip when a close above resistance lines need to be made. The bears, put the minimal amount of effort required to close below strong resistance lines, and thus a more bearish sentiment should start forming pretty soon. A monthly candle close below 875 on the S&P definitely vows for the bears, although it doesn’t necessarily mean that there is no more upside from here. I explain my trades for the day, and give people a nice SRS options trade. I also look at the Dow Jones industrial chart, GS, XLF, SRS and SPY.

I want to trade options, buy and sell calls and puts. I applied for option trading and got approved for Level 1 option trading which does pretty much nothing. I was trying to figure out what e-trade required for the ability to try at Level 2.
